Where Is It?
When they asked, “When will your kingdom come, Jesus?” He answered them by saying, “My kingdom doesn’t come with ocular observation (it’s not seen with your eyes). My kingdom is found on the inside.” [see Luke 17:20-21].
In fact, the Kingdom of God is described as “Righteousness, Peace and Joy in the Holy Spirit”[Romans 14:17]. This is an inner state, not a country or a ruling body.
His Kingdom is within us. It’s not something we have to work towards or yearn for. It’s not on the outside.
It is something He has given us as a gift to enjoy.
And He awakens us to see it.
As long as it takes...
He is always gently stirring us, guiding us to see it for ourselves.
But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). [Romans 10:6-7, NKJV)
The kingdom is here. Now.
"But why am I not feeling it?" The question is a common one.
So often we want to measure the truth of God against our current experience. But truly our experiences are what is altered by our seeing Truth.
Jesus often used parables (stories) to help people see something that isn’t communicated just by using linear facts. He leads us to see something beautiful, that’s often beyond our initial comprehension. It takes time to let go of the grip of certainty.
To invite in the sincere questions.
To begin an authentic relationship with Someone who loves you and wants your best.
The Father is safe. He is trustworthy. Trust His timing, His way of getting you to see what is already there.
Simply begin by considering it to be true, and reminding yourself when you forget.
This is a journey we all take into the Kingdom. A “place” or state where we see that we are all connected. ONE. The dualism is a mirage. The enemy isn’t here. There is no separation. We belong to each other. We deeply care for all of Creation, especially those who can’t see it yet.
May you have a day in the Kingdom today, steeped in connection with your Father, deep peace in your heart, and a sparkling joy welling up as you go about your responsibilities. You are cherished.
