You Make Sense
Did you know that your weaknesses and “flaws” make sense to God? You are not a mistake. He understands you and why you are the way you are, why you do the things you do, why you think the things you think.
That doesn’t mean they are necessarily good or profitable. They may not align with His best for you. Still, You are not a disappointment to God. He’s been with you from the beginning and He sees the details that have shaped your life. This truth doesn’t excuse all of our actions, but it does explain them. And isn’t it good to be understood? The One who understands us can love us unconditionally. This kind of love is the medicine we need to address the things that are not good for us.
This ultimately means that we’re worthy of love and goodness, even if we’re imperfect. No wonder God is gracious. He knows everything. And He knows the struggles of all of His precious children. That’s why He is a nurturing Father and not a Judge beholding legalities.
He doesn’t judge the source of our pain. He judges lies. He doesn’t judge us. That’s why Jesus came to testify of the truth. He came to reveal our oneness with God, our value, our identity as Beloved. In His truth, the lies are cast down. We can see that Jesus did not come to condemn anyone.
All of the imperfect people doing selfish things, simply trying to survive and protect themselves, He did not condemn. But He did condemn anything that made us look small, not valuable, deserving of punishment, or not worthy of love. We see Him lifting up the outcast, the sinner, the mistreated female, the Gentiles, the mentally ill. He loved all of imperfect humanity doing their best to survive by protecting themselves (sometimes in ways that were selfish and harmful to others). Yet God knows and understands. We all make perfect sense to Him; and we never lose our value in His eyes.
This is the way Love works. At the root, we are understood and loved unconditionally by the Source of all Love. This happens first — His Love. The order is important. Just like a tree or a flower initially absorbs their nutrients at the root, we also acknowledge and absorb God's Love at our root (our authentic self) and it begins to do a beautiful work in us. This is how the blossoming outward happens. It is secondary. Our growth is transformation from the inside out.
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.(John 15:5, NKJV)
Friend, you make sense to God. He wants you to know that He loves you, He understands you and you are definitely not a mistake. Have a great day resting in His nourishing love for you!
