God’s Most Precious Treasure

One of the most wonderful things that Jesus shows us, is that we are all highly valued. He does this in His parables, saying we are the “pearl of great price” and the “hidden treasure in the field”. He told us that His heart is tightly connected to those in prison, the poor, the sick, the orphans and the widows.

He showed that a woman caught in adultery was more valuable than the rule against such adultery. A thieving tax-collector was precious in His sight, and Jesus still wanted his company. The prodigal son still belongs, and the sheep that has wandered away is not damned for its wayward life, but rather it is carried home by the Shepherd who is willing to give His life for it.

In other words, Jesus qualifies all of us who looked disqualified. What amazing grace! What boundless Love! What unending mercy!

We have never seen a Love so true! It often confuses us. We wonder about the scales of justice balancing fairly in the end. We’re vexed by the evil deeds of humans. We wrestle with how to love and value people that seem to be working against the cause of good.

But there is a Love that has brought forth all living things. Wow. Think of what power Love has. It can create and sustain life. There is a Love that is stronger than death, stronger than evil, and it’s greater than all the separatism and hate in the world.

Love will outlast them all, and as truly as God lives, the whole earth will be filled with the knowledge of His glory.

Our true value is found in the Love that brought us into existence. It’s the Love that secured our journey. It’s Love that gently and powerfully brings us home to the awareness of the kingdom of Heaven, the awareness of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Spirit.

Our hope is that this little reminder sparks confidence and assurance in God’s love and care for you. Have a great day!
